Day 7 - Warm Days

My children and I have been outside riding bikes, jumping on the trampoline, chasing each other around the lawn and rolling down the hill. We've had so much fun. However, it would have been a lot better if the temperature was a bit warmer outside. Our fingers, faces and feet are frozen. It really makes me remember how thankful I am for warm weather

Day 6 - Remodeling

I love, love, love it. Yes, it is messy, dirty, slow, tedious at times, but it is full of possibilities. We have so many choices, so many options. It is fun to sit looking through endless possibilities. It is where your mind can be free to go wild. Then, you come back to earth and realize you are on a budget. The next exciting challenge is how to stay within the budget and still get what you want. As you can see, I'm having a great time with our remodel.

I am thankful for remodeling projects.

Day 5 - Weekends

I am thankful for weekends for obvious reasons. More time with the husband, catch up on all the playing, projects going on. Meet with friends and family. I also am thankful for weekends because they are relaxing. My weekend was so fantastic that I forgot all about this blog. Sorry. I'll try to do better next weekend, but I most likely won't.

Day 4 - Calm Kids

If you know my children at all, you know that calm is not a word that describes them. Our family is on the move from 5:30 in the morning until 9:00 at night. We are busy eating, yelling, hugging, playing, arguing, jumping, running, bouncing, tickling, fighting, hopping, asking, doing. Life is just crazy most of the time.

Today, however, was a little different. Carter took a three hour nap and Kylie and Addy actually watched a movie by themselves. I was able to exercise (in the middle of the day without interruption), read part of a book, and actually sit quietly and think.

I love days like this!

Day 3 - Thought process of a four year old

It was a peaceful morning. Kylie and I sat down to a breakfast of fruit loops and honey bunches of oats. We were chattering away about various topics. My older, more sluggish mind was trying to keep up with the wispy ramblings of a four year old. One moment we were talking about school and swimming and the next we were somehow in the middle of a coversation about fish crackers and tall grass. Suddenly, Kylie turns to me and we are having the following converstaion:

Kylie: "Mom, when I grow up can I born a horse" (translation "Mom, when I grow up can I give birth to a horse?")

Me: "People can't give birth to horses. People have people babies and horses have horse babies."

Kylie: "If I ask Jesus can I? I really want a baby horse."

Day 2 - Case Lot Sales

Today I am thankful for case lot sales at our local grocery store. Food is expensive so I try to save how I can.

Coupons - tried and failed, (too time consuming right now)
Canning - rewarding, but exhausting and seasonal
Case lot sales - AMAZING, convenient, cheap, and easy

Day 1 - Rain Clouds

You may be thinking that this is an odd way to start a thankful journal. I, however, am really thankful for rain clouds. They provide so much beauty, needed moisture for our new lawn, and a perfect setting for the kids to dance.
